Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have neutralised a notorious leader of a cult group, Ikem Thank God who is popularly known as ‘General 2 Man.’ from Ogbologbolo Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. The deceased was said to be the leader of the Greenlander Cult Group and responsible for series of heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Bala while parading his corpse before journalists in Port Harcourt said he was killed during an intelligence-led operation while attempting to carry out another kidnapping. He said some of his gang members managed to escape with injuries, adding that efforts are underway to apprehend them. Speaking on the security measures put in place ahead of the yulitide season and after, CP Bala emphasize that the command is committed to protecting lives and property.

The police boss also reacted to the situation of police officer allegedly preventing traders at the oginigba market land issues. Items recovered from the deceased includes two AK-47 rifles, five magazines and twenty-two rounds of live ammunition.
