Good Governance Group demands release of President of Miyetti Allah Inbox
Nigerian Youths for Good Governance (NYGG), has called for the immediate release of Bello Badejo, a well-respected Fulani leader and advocate for peace and development, who was recently detained under questionable circumstances.
The group expressed deep concern over the growing trend of unlawful detentions and the violation of fundamental human rights in the country.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Executive Director of NYGG, Ado Mohammed, revealed that Badejo was taken into custody by soldiers on December 9, 2024, marking the second such incident this year. Badejo was previously detained for nearly five months in January 2024 without due process or justification.
According to the statement, this is a blatant violation of his fundamental human rights, just as the group demanded an immediate investigation into the actions of the soldiers responsible for this unlawful detention.
The group consequently urged the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to promptly investigate the circumstances surrounding Bello Badejo’s arrest and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
